LOWER POND CREEK TRAIL
This is a single track-walking trail that leads through the woods down to its terminus at Locust Ridge Road, a distance of one mile. This trial is a moderately strenuous trail, so beware when taking elders or little ones down this one. You will encounter steep terrain as it follows Pond Creek. This is one of the most scenic trails out of our entire trail system.
This trail offers some of Beech Mountain's greatest natural beauty. Water cascading over rocks, with many small waterfalls and one much larger waterfalls. This is the one that makes the strenuous hike worth all the hard work, just to see it. You will be in somewhat of a gorge area once you reach the bottom.
This trail is rugged, so please, please use extra caution, especially if you have "little one's" with you, and children should NEVER be left alone or allowed to go alone on this trail! Also, please do NOT attempt to slide on the rocks or swim in the small pool, they could prove to be dangerous
