GRASSY GAP CREEK TRAIL

This trail is considered "easy" to "moderate" and is 2.0 miles in length.   This trail begins at the Hawthorne Trail Head, this trail heads a little northwest and only drops about 600 feet in elevation to Buckeye Lake area.  The first part of the trail you will be following an old logging road used during the late 1920's, when chestnut and hemlock trees were havested on Beech Mountain.  Please be careful to follow the trail signs, and stay on the marked trail.  Also, you will be crossing some parts of private property, so please be respectful of these areas as well. 

 

Watch for wildlife, they are everywhere, and please remember to keep track of where you are at all times when on any trail or trail system!
